1962 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8-Liter Roadster
Chassis No. 877361
Estimate: $115,000-$125,000 US
AUCTION DATE:
To be auctioned on
Friday, January 20, 2012
• Desirable Series I E-Type with covered headlights
• Several practical performance upgrades
• Recent service by marque specialist Classic Showcase

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find an early E-type in this condition, finished in a great color combination of a fiery shade of red over black leather. This beautiful Jaguar has been well maintained and restored comprehensively during the ownership of its short list of caretakers. The car is originally from Texas and Arizona, has been well documented and includes a book of receipts as well as pictures from the restoration. During the restoration process, the car was disassembled, the paint was stripped, the car was fitted and then re-painted, color-sanded and buffed. New rubber seals and hardware were installed along with a new interior, including leather seats, door panels, carpet and the convertible top. Jaguar professionals also recently overhauled the engine, transmission, rear end, suspension, hydraulic system, fuel system and the cooling system. An aluminum radiator, electronic ignition system, auxiliary fan and 16-inch wire wheels have been added to enhance the driving manners of this iconic E-type. Furthermore, the brake system was rebuilt and new Koni shocks, new exhaust manifolds and a new exhaust system were installed.

Professionally restored with beneficial performance upgrades, this E-Type is the perfect car for the owner in search of a windy road. Few sports cars can profess to be as impressive, both in performance and sheer beauty, whether maneuvering around town or driving at high speed on the freeway.

Addendum
Please note this car has 15 inch wire wheels and comes with a Heritage Certificate.
