This 1962 Jaguar XKE Series I Roadster is said to have been purchased by the seller’s father in 1966, and a refurbishment in the 1990s involved body repairs, a repaint in Opalescent Gunmetal, and an interior re-trim in black leather. The car is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, 15” knockoff wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, covered headlights, split chrome bumpers, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Work performed in 2022 reportedly involved overhauling the triple SU carburetors, installing a battery cutoff switch, and replacing the fuel pump. This Series I XKE is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Opalescent Gunmetal, the car is said to have been repainted during a refurbishment in the mid-1990s after several decades of storage. Work reportedly involved repairing left-side accident damage sustained in the 1960s, as well as re-plating the bright exterior trim. Exterior features include a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, covered headlights, dual center-exit exhaust outlets, and split chrome bumpers with overriders.

Chrome-finished 15″ knockoff wire wheels are retained via two-eared spinners and mounted with 205/70 Cooper CS5 Grand Touring tires. The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors that were overhauled in 2022, per the seller. The fuel pump and engine oil were also replaced at that time, and a battery cutoff switch has been added. The seller notes an oil leak.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
