Ebay item 10/13/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-Series-I-Roadster-/191714792689
Current bid US $35,300.00
Reserve not met, 29 bids 9 days left in auction, buy it now price $95,500. Seller hilltop6955, Hanover, MA.
Sellers description:
Hilltop Auto stock #186 is our latest addition which just came in over the weekend. It is a 1962, 3.8 liter, Series I, E-type roadster and it is a matching number car. The car was built in January of 1962. We believe the car was originally red with a black interior. There are a lot of very early things on the car of which we haven taken photos of. I.e. the rear end has a the bigger drive shafts, the butler lights used for the license plate, the chrome on the top of the doors, the dash top and the vents are different from the later cars and there are many more little things. The engine had been rebuilt years ago and it still does turn freely. The car will need some sill work done near the battery. The floors are in good shape. This XKE is mostly complete, some small items are the only thing we can see that are missing. This restoration project is a great investment, the Series I,3.8 liter E-types are always going up in price. We have a Jaguar Heritage Certificate that we have ordered and we are waiting for it to arrive. The car steers & rolls so it can be transported easily.

Reportedly possessing matching chassis, body, engine block, gearbox and back axle numbers, the E-Type is further understood to retain a variety of very early build features such as the initial-style dashtop/vents, different profile chrome trim strips to the door tops, earlier-type butler lights for the rear license plate and bigger diameter drive shafts.
Not long emerged from an extensive, ground up, bare metal restoration by a UK marque specialist, the Roadster has been refinished in its original colours of Carmen Red with Red leather upholstery. Over 200 accompanying photographs document the extent of the mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment with the results said to speak for themselves. Entrusted to Tom Hampton of Hampton Coach Trimming Ltd, Staffs, the gorgeous interior is offset by a Black soft-top and matching tonneau cover. Riding on new wire wheels shod with fresh tyres, the two-seater also benefits from an uprated Powerlite starter motor. Worthy of close inspection, this stunning E-Type would surely grace any marque collection.
