Ebay item 6/10/18
www.ebay.com/itm/1961-Jaguar-E-Type/123181585412
Car has a buy it now price of $55,000 for 6 days, seller teammonkeywards, 43k miles, car now said to be in Tijeras, New Mexico.

Sellers description:
THIS JAGUAR, SERIES 1, 3.8, OTS, FLAT FLOOR, E-TYPE WAS BORN ON DECEMBER 12, 1961. IT HAS INSIDE BONNET LATCHES. ACCORDING TO ITS JAGUAR HERITAGE CERTIFICATE, ITS ORIGINAL COLOR WAS OPALESCENT BRONZE, WITH BLACK INTERIOR, AND BLACK TOP. THE CHASSIS NUMBER IS 876356. ON JANUARY 4, 1962, IT WAS DISPATCHED TO JAGUAR CARS, NEW YORK, NY. THE FIRST OWNER WAS DR. H.B. HENDERSON. WHEN RECOVERED FROM A FIELD IN ALBUQUERQUE, NM, IN OCTOBER 2016, THE ODOMETER INDICATED 43,178 MILES, WHICH IS THOUGHT TO BE THE ORIGINAL TOTAL MILES. THIS IS BASED ON THE BLACK CALIFORNIA LICENSE PLATE WHICH IS STAMPED "63." ALSO, THE BATTERY THAT WAS IN THE CAR IS STAMPED "5/64." IT WAS MISSING THE ORIGINAL ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, AND BONNET...AND, HAD BEEN WRECKED ON THE RIGHT REAR CORNER, AS INDICATED BY THE CUT OUT PORTION OF THE CAR. INTERESTINGLY, ALL THE ORIGINAL, WRECKED PIECES THAT WERE CUT OUT WERE LYING IN THE WEEDS NEXT TO THE CAR. THOSE WITH A GOOD EYE WILL NOTICE THAT THE BOOT LID, HAD A 4.2L BADGE. OBVIOUSLY, THE LID HAD BEEN REPLACED AT SOME POINT. SUBSEQUENT TO THE PICTURES SHOWN HERE, THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY STRIPPED, MEDIA BLASTED, AND PAINTED WITH EPOXY PRIMER, WHICH IS THE PRESENT CONDITION OF THE CAR. THE ONLY RUST THROUGH PLACE ON THE CAR IS IN THE BATTERY AREA, AND IT IS MINIMAL. MANY OF THE ORIGINAL PIECES HAVE BEEN MEDIA BLASTED AND AWAIT CAD PLATING, MANY NEW SUSPENSION PARTS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED, AS HAVE NEW SEATS, WHICH HAVE BEEN POWDER COATED. THE TOP FRAME HAS ALSO BEEN BLASTED AND POWDER COATED. THE CAR COMES WITH ALL THE MARTIN ROBEY AND MONOCOQUE METALWORKS SHEET METAL NECESSARY TO REPAIR THE RIGHT REAR QUARTER OF THE CAR. THE CAR ALSO COMES WITH A 3.8L ENGINE FROM A 1962 JAGUAR MK10, WHICH WAS FITTED WITH THE SAME ENGINE AS THE E-TYPE. THIS ENGINE HAS A COMPRESSION RATIO OF 9:1, AND USES THE SAME THREE SU CARBS, MANIFOLD, ETC. THIS ENGINE HAS BEEN CLEANED AND COMPLETELY MACHINED, INCLUDING NEW SLEEVES, BRINGING THE ENGINE BACK TO ORIGINAL 3.8 SPECS, AND BORED FOR THE INCLUDED NEW STD PISTONS. THE CRANK WAS GROUND TO .010" OVER AND NEW BEARING ARE INCLUDED. THE HEAD AND BLOCK HAVE BEEN DECKED. AND THE HEAD VALVE SEATS GROUND, AS WELL AS THE VALVES. ALSO, COMES WITH NEW VALVE SPRINGS, AND A GASKET AND SEAL SET. THE BLOCK HAS BEEN PAINTED WITH BLACK ENGINE PAINT AND IS READY FOR REASSEMBLY. IT ALSO COMES WITH A COMPLETE BONNET FROM A S1.5 E-TYPE, WHICH CAN BE EASILY CONVERTED TO COVERED HEADLIGHTS CORRECT FOR THE S1. THIS BONNET IS IN FAIRLY GOOD CONDITION, BUT WILL NEED A NEW BELLY PAN, AND SOME METAL WORK AROUND THE GRILL OPENING. THE CAR HAS A CLEAR NEW MEXICO TITLE. I CAN PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PICTURES UPON REQUEST. BUT, BETTER YET, I URGE ANY SERIOUSLY INTERESTED PARTY TO COME TO MY HOUSE AND CHECK ALL THE PIECES OUT IN PERSON. I AM SELLING THIS CAR BECAUSE I AM SIMPLY GETTING TOO OLD, AND DON'T FEEL THAT, WITH ALL MY OTHER PROJECTS, I HAVE THE TIME LEFT TO DO IT JUSTICE. THIS CAR WILL MAKE SOMEONE VERY PROUD WHEN FINISHED. FYI: ORIGINAL ENGINE NUMBER: R 2957-9. ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION NUMBER: EB 2099 JS. ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE THESE IN THEIR E-TYPE?

INCLUDED WITH THE CAR ARE ALL THE ORIGINAL PARTS THAT WERE ON THE CAR WHEN I BOUGHT IT, INCLUDING WINDOW AND WINDSHIELD GLASS, WHICH ARE BOTH GOOD. ALSO, A REBUILT, CORRECT FUEL PUMP, A CLEANED AND POWDER COATED GAS TANK, AND MANY SMALL NEW PARTS...AND GOOD, USED CONSOLE. ALL PARTS HAVE BEEN SORTED INTO TAGGED BAGGIES.

Freshly restored to competition condition by a great specialist in this type of car, we are very proud to be able to put this car up for sale.

The restoration began in November 2021 and was completed in June 2023. Everything was done to the highest standards, with all correct numbers and original colors, as evidenced by the heritage certificate and Pictures. A complete restoration file is available as well as a magnificent photo book. The car comes from the United States and was imported all taxes paid.

This is without a doubt one of the best flat floors (with welded louvers!!) on the market, and what a beautiful and unique color combination!

Not only is this a great car to drive and own, it is also a perfect investment, especially at this very competitive price. For those who want to make a quick decision!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
