Built on December 7, 1961, and dispatched to Jaguar Cars New York on December 29, this 1962 Jaguar Series 1 roadster, which has been with one caring owner since 1982, is one of the first 2,086 left-hand drive examples produced with flat floor pans, (a feature that is believed to have ceased production in May of 1962) and is a beautiful demonstration of the restorer's art at its finest. Its rotisserie restoration was commenced by JC Classics, Inc., of Burlington, Wisconsin, and completed by Ringbrothers in Spring Green, Wisconsin, in June 2017. This 1962 E-Type Series 1 roadster proves the point that time has not depleted the E-Type's charm, but enhanced it instead. Powered by the time-honored 3.8L twin-cam inline-6 engine with 4-speed manual transmission, its black exterior finish and sharp red leather cockpit make a stirring pairing that play to the Jaguar's classic beauty. Documented with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, this artfully restored Series 1 E-Type needs nothing but to be enjoyed in top-down fashion on a long, winding road.

This 1962 Jaguar XKE is a Series I flat-floor roadster that was assembled in December 1961 and initially delivered to Jaguar Cars of New York. A cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment was commissioned in the mid-2010s and acquired by the selling dealer in 2024 after being owned by wrestler/actor John Cena. Finished in black with a matching soft top and boot cover, the car is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six that is mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The cabin is outfitted with red leather upholstery, an AM radio, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, and textured aluminum trim, and further equipment includes chrome 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, and a louvered clamshell hood. This flat-floor Series I roadster is offered by the selling dealer with a clean Florida title.
This Series I roadster was initially assembled on December 7, 1961, and is one of a reported 2,086 left-hand-drive examples produced with a continuous floorboard under each seat. The car underwent a refurbishment that is said to have been completed in 2017 by Ringbrothers of Spring Green, Wisconsin.
The car is finished in black with a black soft top and boot cover. Further details include a louvered clamshell hood, enclosed headlights, triple windshield wipers, and chrome wraparound bumpers and trim.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and wear Toyo Extensa tires, and a matching spare is stowed in the trunk. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The bucket seats are upholstered in red leather and are joined by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include textured aluminum dashboard trim, a sliding rearview mirror, an AM radio, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel features an E-Type-branded horn button and frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer. Ancillary readouts for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 401 miles. Total chassis mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. An aluminum radiator is fitted, and the dual exhaust system terminates through polished centrally-mounted finishers.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificates show the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
