Car is 99 percent complete, even down to the original aluminum alloy radiator. Runs very smooth but could use new paint and leather. Immediate plans are to get 4 new tires and tubes. Still has original Dunlop RS5 wide white-wall spare.

Finally getting car repainted. Removed all chrome, in shop right now. Also installing all new interior, new rubber seal kit, new gas tank, custom made aluminum radiator, new Red-Line tires and tubes, plus too many other items to mention. Hope to have the car back on the road just in time for summer.

Well I wasn't able to get the car back on the road until the spring of 2010. When you do everything,and I mean everything yourself but the exterior body paint, things take a little longer than planned. Of course the carbs needed a complete rebuild with the insides looking like they were coated in molasses, front brakes and clutch master/slave cylinders rebuilt. Everything that could be flushed or drained, refilled with new fluids. Lots and lots of adjustments and tweaking, a blend of non-oxygenated premium and 110 octane racing gas (makes the engine very happy) and I was finally ready for a very enjoyable summer of motoring.

Well it's now almost August of 2012 , where is summer going, and the car has been nothing but pure joy to drive since getting it back on the road over 2 years ago. Draws a crowd where ever I go. Even kids too young to know what kind of car it is, don't see many Jags in this area, always say "Nice car Mister!" The only improvements I've done since then is replace the original front brake rotors and finally got the windshield-wiper motor housing repainted, completing the under bonnet restoration. The paint is holding-up well, with only a very few tiny nicks in the paint immediately behind the rear tires. I did have a problem with hypoid oil leaking from the rear diff seals making quite a mess after a long ride, only to discover after a lot of head scratching that the breather assembly after 50 years had plugged-up. Removed, cleaned assembly, problem fixed. The only other thing that is driving me crazy is the new Lucas Sport coil, second one actually and I wouldn't recommend it to any one, is running hot enough to fry bacon on. Timing and dwell are perfect. Motor runs very smooth, but I'm afraid it's going to leave me stranded some day if it finally decides to quit working. I'll probably put the original coil back on, which never got hot as far as I know. Other than that, should have 3 more months of good driving before putting it away for another long winters sleep. Yuck! Winters are so flippin' long around here, but the summers are great and Wisconsin has wonderful country roads to cruise along.

Latest update on the car. Really missed the way the car rode and handled on the bias-ply tires the car originally came with, so I invested in a set of new wire wheels from Dayton Wheel and 5 new vintage look Firestone tires with the wide whitewalls from Coker. Love the way the car looks now and rides so much better then on the radials. The new tires also increased the ride height back to the way it should be. I worry a lot less now about driving over speed bumps. The mufflers always scrapped before. Another side benefit of the new wheels and tires is that more people than ever seem to comment on the car now than before, which is hard to believe. Any way, happy motoring!
