My first Jaguar was a 1954 XK120SE OTS i bought back in 1958 while in college. I've had two XJ6 Series 3 saloons, a 2.4 saloon, a 1953 XK120SE FHC, another 1954 XK120SE OTS that was twice JCNA National Champion in Class 2 in 2000 and 2001 and still own a "velocity yellow" 1961 E-Type OTS that I've had since 1970. It currently is entered in JCNA shows in Class S-3. This is the Jaguar I will never part with! A JT5 transmission goes in Jan. 2009.

I bought the car in 1970 in Cincinnati Oh. It had the later 4.2 engine and synchro gearbox installed and the front end sheet metal needed work and car was in primer. Since it didn't have the original engine, I couldn't restore it to original specs. I painted it bright yellow and fitted Series 2 seats. Since then it has undergone many personal modifications such as removing the bumpers, fitting alloy radiator and header tank, oil cooler with dual spin on filters, Lexan, "lightweight E " headlamp covers, custom top, custom steering wheel etc. It now has JT5 transmission.

This car undergoes a continuous process of improvements and modifications that make it a constantly rewarding project. Many of the parts used in the modifications are handmade. All mods are done retaining the integrity and spirit of the E-Type.This past year we won the Peoples Choice Award at the North Georgia JCNA Concours in a field of 54 Jaguars of all types. The car is entered in Class S3 in JCNA Concours competitions.

Please excuse the insertion of XK material on this E site! Obviously, the BNANNA is the E-Type which has been shown here for a long time. I recently posted these pix seen of my first Jaguar, the 1954 blue, XK120 SE OTS. Regrettably, I have no record of any ID for this car other than license plate # which the State of Ohio has purged. I would like to receive an email if you have any info regarding this car!

The tires on the car are front tires off an Indianapolis race car, (670x16), bought in the garage area for $5 each, recapped and run as fast as this blue beauty would go. I think these were the first "white letter" tires ever run on the street.

I sold the car a couple of months before I got married in September 1963 in Cincinnati Oh. I had the stupid notion that I should get a car more befitting a "family man". Dumb!

I never really liked the original headlight trim rings on the Series 1, always seemed a bit too heavy,thick,wide...I bought the special plastic lenses from SNG then made outline drawings of what I needed and had these new ring pieces laser cut by SendCutSend...it was difficult hand forming the flat stainless pieces to fit those beautiful contours of the body openings and then spot the exact places to drill for the hold down screws...I think they look great...I spec'd .062 thk stainless....
