Currently at Welsh Enterprises awaiting restoration. Here's a glimpse of some of the well preserved parts to the car. The doors and bonnet are in unbelievably good, rust free condition. One of our main reasons for visiting welsh was to document early E-Type doors. This is for our next early E-Type book.

875243 was purchased by me from Don Westerlies with US title in March 14 and exported through Los Angeles to UK and now is UK NOVA registered. I have posted photographs of the car here in the UK as she currently sits and updated the data plate above with other known information. The front bulkhead has the holes and fixtures associated with an external lock bonnet / hood but also has holes, some blanked with grommets, for internal locks. Importantly the body tag has been left is in-place on the front bulkhead. Other early features include flat floors, flat rear bulkhead, welded in louvre bonnet, fibre glass glove-box, double boot / trunk hinges and the presence of a central drain-hole.
Don started the restoration of this car including NOS 2 piece construction doors and sourced many other NOS components such as Butler rear number plate lamps from his vast stock of E-Type parts. I will shortly have the car completely stripped back by a leading E-Type specialist in the UK and restored to concours. The original engine is believed to be with Welsh Enterprises back in the US though the current engine / carbs are correct for a 61 3.8.

www.classicconnection.co.uk/post/jaguar-e-type-chassis-238-3-8-roadster
Jaguar E Type Series 1 Roadster.1961.Chassis number 243, making it one of the early cars with outside bonnet locks. This matching numbers car is finished in its original Opalescent Gunmetal with Red leather interior and a Black soft top. Having been restored by a renowned specialist in early E Types, this car is simply stunning, the gaps are the best you will ever see and the paintwork is like glass.
Every aspect of the restoration has been carried out to the most incredible standard. Comes with Heritage Certificate, professional inspections are welcome. Such a rare E Type with this being in its original colour also being an outside bonnet lock, louvered car. Great opportunity to buy a new E Type 61 years on. Any inspection welcome.
