Opening bid C $30,000.00 (Reserve not met), no bids yet, 5 days left in auction.
Sellers comment:
You are bidding on a rare 1963 Jaguar XKE roadster with a 6 cyl. 3.8L DOHC 3 carb, 4 speed man. Trans. 4 wheel disc brakes. It has 75 000 original miles, the car has been stored for almost 25 years. It is in great mechanical shape, but it does need some work the interior needs to be reinstalled, I do have all the peices. There is no rust on the car but it does need a fresh coat of paint. I am setting the reserve for $40 000, due to the fact that the car is not mine I am not able to negotiate, the car is well worth the money a restored car is worth nearly 90 000 american, plus I have been told that there are only about 6 in Canada.

If this is car #875209, then it must be a 1961 production, possibly June or July, as my car #875343 was produced on Aug. 17, 1961.

Registration: Unreg'd
Chassis Number: 875209
Engine Number: R-1325-9

This 1961 Jaguar E-type 3.8 is an outstanding example of an original and hugely collectable 'outside bonnet lock', flat floor roadster. Further benefitting from lefthand drive and manual transmission specification, this car has been fastidiously restored to better than new standard by recognised Italian restorers, Classic Motorsport of Rome.
Finished in preferred colour scheme of Green body colour, polished brightwork and period Tan leather, this ready to drive roadster is hotly anticipated ahead of its sale on 23rd July at Silverstone Race Circuit.
This 'outside bonnet lock' is chassis number 875209, expatriated from the long-term ownership of one Mario Calitri of Ontario, Canada by a Warwickshire based businessman in June 2004. The car was then sold to the current vendor, a successful Italian entrepreneur, who included the car in his enviable car collection before undertaking the fastidious restoration in Rome.
The work was carried out over the next 5 years only recently having been completed to faithful factory specification by its dedicated owner. There is a photographic record of the entire painstaking process with the history file of this car.
It is now presented in outstanding order throughout following its thorough and professional restoration process. The engine of this matching numbers car is reported to run well and reports oil pressures and throttle response as you would expect.
This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to purchase one of the earliest Jaguar E-Types during the official celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the Jaguar E-Type at the Silverstone Classic.
