Info gathered with permission from:
www.hendi.nl/xke/main.htm

In 1987 875190,was located in Alaska. it reportedly, was purchased new in Alaska in March of 1962, and was purchased In November of 1986 by its 1987 owner. At that time its engine was out, and it was missing its right-side exterior hood latch.

Current bid $20,100.00 (Reserve not met), 17 bids, 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
The 1961 E-Type Roadster being offered here for auction is the 190th car produced, making it even more desirable. Originally delivered to Anchorage, Alaska and sold by Import Auto Center of 1101 Firewood Lane Anchorage to Mr. Robert E. Mason on April 25,1962 at a price of $6,758. The car retains the original colors of red exterior and black interior.

This E-Type has been preserved quite well for a car of 43 years. It has minimal rust, that seems surprising for a car driven in Alaska. Alaska however, does not use salt on it's roadways. I also beleive the climate did not lend itself to excessive use of an E-Type.

This #190 E-Type, has an outside latch bonnet and welded louvers. These are details that are unique to the first 500 coupes and roadsters combined. It also has the lower front windshield trim which is larger than on later cars. It still retains the chrome trim that goes on the back of the convertible top. It is still equipped with the original radio and speakers. The 1961 stamp is on the original fuel pump and the car has it's original wiper bottle. Very early cars had a black rubber cap screwed on the top of the windshield post, this car was fitted with such a cap the rubber has worn off but, the cap is stil present. The car comes with it's original radiator and also has it's original shrowd it is not in the car but, comes with it.

The car runs and drives. The original engine #1300-9 comes with the car. The previous owner replaced it with a 1964 3.8 E-Type engine while he intended to rebuild the original engine. The engine in the car now is RA5693-9. The original engine 1300-9 is apart, I have the block, crankshaft, original smooth oil pan and all the distribution chain assemblies. The original cylinder head has been misplaced. The one in the car is identical due to the fact it is a series one engine.

The bottom of the firewall and the rocker panels are in excellent condition as is the bonnet. There is a very small dent on the nose of the bonnet. The trunk area is in excellent condition as are the rear fenders. The two front and rear sections of the floors are original and in good shape. They have some small rust holes. The rear section on both sides has been reinforced with some fiberglass. Because of the low production number of this car I beleive they should be replaced.

What is missing, the exterior chrome on the drivers door, the motif bar, the two wood floor pieces for the trunk.

The car numbers are chassis 875190, engine original 1300-9, body R1264, gearbox E406JS This is an excellent opportunity to acquire not only an E-Type, but a 1961 E-Type, a piece of automotive history.

Vehicle Condition
This car being such a low production number is the perect candidate for a collector or enthusiast to own a piece of automotive history. Ideally it should have the chance to undergo a show quality restoration to preserve it's beauty.

9/22/04 ad for this car was found at:
used-cars.autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/detail/
However it makes no sense as it is from Beverly Hills, CA and the selling price is $16. I can't help but be suspicious of this offer.
