This car was for sale at the classic car fair in Maastricht in januari 9-11 2004, at the stand of Smitha & Veglia classic car dealers. It was in restored condition, very well done, not concourse. It was advertised as an 1959 E-type roadster.

This car is featured on www.hendi.nl/xke/ .
In 1994 the car was for sale in California. Exported in 1995 to Holland where it had a 3 year professional ground up restoration. Title of previous owner was issued in Hawai. It reportedly, had 28.000 miles Exterior color now opalescent gunmetal with red interior and black top. Finished to 100 points concours restoration and for 99 % still original. In 1995 it was stated to have the wide windshield trim and the three-piece L-post trim, double trunk-lid hinges, the white plastic transmission cover, door chrome trim with recess along the bottom, and a non-finned sump as well as the original bakelite caps on the fluid reservoirs.

I was the first owner before and after restoration of this car, so I know every original detail of this car. The restoration was done by Brooklands Classic Cars in Holland and finished in 1998. I still have the original chassis plate.

Uhhhh, I would always retain the original chassis plate with the car. It is for me the most valuable identification of originality of such a car beside the title.
As new owner I would really seek to receive the plate from you, Frans....
But very very nice, early car!
Does anyone know the original colour combination of the car?
Thanks!
Stefan

Dear all,
I don't know where Lofty and Stefan bought this car as I bought it in march 2012 from Classicpark in the Netherlands. It is registered in Belgium at the moment.
Dear Frans, I would like to contact you to share some info about the car to get its history complete.
I do have the photo book regarding the restoration done by Brooklands.
Kind regards,
Jochen Moortgat

Just finding your entry, Jochen, I just want to say, I never owned this car. It was only a sophisticated statement / my opinion. I wanted simply to express, if I were the new owner, I would try to retain the original VIN plate from Frans.....
Sorry for any misunderstanding! But again, very very nice car indeed!
Thanks
Stefan

Dear Stefan,
Sorry about the misunderstanding.
I can gladly say that I met with Frans and that I know have reunited the original chassis plate with the car.
Greetings
