Laid up in a dry garage in 1982 and unearthed by WinSpeed in September 2019, this represents a very rare opportunity to acquire an early E-Type – the 999th UK RHD 3.8 Coupe – at a very affordable price. It remained unused for 38 years, sitting on flat Pirelli Cinturatos and buried under accumulated household goods!
Now sensibly recommissioned by WinSpeed (full details on file), this E-Type is immediately available to use in its pleasantly patinated state until such time as a decision might be made to embark on bigger refurbishment if desired. It has huge potential due to its inherently sound structure and excellent panels gaps…. The car drives extremely well.
Manufactured in November 1962, but registered in 1963, this E-Type was originally supplied by the legendary company HWM of Walton-Upon-Thames in Opalescent Dark Green with Suede Green interior trim. In about 1973 the car was subjected to a total repaint in its present Opalescent Light Blue and a retrim. Its Registration Number 2656 PH is original to the car. It sits on its original and rare curly hub wire wheels, now refurbished and shod with Vredestein tyres. As part of its recommissioning we installed Coopercraft front brake calipers, BG rear caliper piston units and attended to its steering and front and rear suspension as deemed necessary.
With its fascinating little history we are certain that 2656 PH will give great pleasure, at an affordable price, to its new owner.
