This barn find E Type is an early factory right-hand drive FHC that has been hidden away for many years. Originally Opalescent Dark Blue with grey upholstery, the Jaguar was repainted red and trimmed in black some years ago ? the paint is now faded, cracked, but everything is there and the car drives quite well. The car was in storage from 1976 until recently brought out of hibernation. An ideal project car, the Jaguar would look stunning taken back to the original colour scheme.
The combined production of E Types may have exceeded 70,000 all told (including V12s) but these early six cylinder cars are rare, particularly in right-hand drive configuration as the vast majority were left hookers delivered to the United States. For this particular model, a 3.8 FHC, just 1,798 were made in total and they remain highly desirable as the purest E Types of all.
