Supplied new to Capt JEP Howey, full repaint in metalic grey from Carmen Red before delivery.
The car stayed grey until repainted Carmen Red in Dec 1974.
Full restoration started in 1975 by Ian Dopson but not finished.
Purchased by Paul Davis ex TWR Jaguar Team Manager and due for completion by mid 2010. Repainted metalic grey again.
Very original 30000 ml car with nice period mods.

I'm interested in this as I am pretty sure Captain Howey acquired a Carman Red E Type reg 99 PKT in 1962. I have pictures of it at Red Tiles (Howey's house in New Romney) in red which were taken I believe when it was delivered - I also have a black and white photo of it with Howey driving and the tone of the body colour would point it to being red rather than metallic grey. The question is really, is this the same car or was 99 PKT on loan from Jaguar while the car in this information was delivered? Howey died in September 1963 and all his cars were sold off after that. If anyone can answer the question please email me as I'd like to get my records straight. Thanks

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
