Ebay item 8/10/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Jaguar-E-Type-Coupe-/372040150309
Car has a buy it now price of $32,500 for 20 days, seller kurttannermotorcars, 61k miles.
Sellers description:
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this extremely well-preserved E-type Coupe. This car was recently purchased from it's long term California owner of at least the past 37 years. He purchased the car while living in New Mexico in the early 80's from presumably the second owner, a lady, who at some point had the car painted Opalescent Maroon over the original Willow Green.
This car was driven here to California in perfect mechanical health. At some point in 1985, the owner decided to repaint the car so it was sent out to a local paint shop in the Redlands, CA area. The progress on the car stalled. It was taken to another shop for finishing. That shop went out of business. The car was then put into storage.
Today, this car is a superb example for a straightforward cosmetic and partial mechanical restoration. It will make the perfect coupe when completed...
The body on the car is fantastic with perfect factory shutlines, super pencil straight, rustfree and accident-free. The doors just click shut. The bonnet, although just loosely hung, shows nice gapping. Underneath, the car is completely solid with all of it's original sheetmetal and factory undercoating.
The car's matching numbers engine turns nicely by hand, and should continue these years later to run/drive well with a fuel and brake service.
The car's interior is mostly the original beige, and is in need of a simple, straightforward retrim. The dashboard facia, switches, gauges, and A/C vent row is excellent.
A few items are noted as missing: the windshield broke upon removal and needs replacing, the radiator assembly, rear taillight panel, front and rear screen finishers, 2 drip rail moldings, LH front turn lense.
The car's existing chromework is in excellent to near perfect condition, as well as the superb wire wheel set. The glass is removed but present and in good condition. There are some loose items included with the sale.
Overall a fantastic candidate for easy restoration in remarkably well preserved condition, being tucked away in a private garage for the last 37 years.
Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions.
The description above is general in nature and not to be solely relied upon by buyer. Buyer to verify authenticity, matching numbers, condition, year, model, make, type, rarity or provenance and all other relevant information.
This car is sold with a clear title.
