    Ebay item 7/11/13
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Jaguar-XKE-Series-II-4-2L-/281134217738
Current bid $18,865 reserve not met 12 bids 6 days left in auction. 66k miles.

    Sellers description:
I have owned this E-type for over 12 years, and keep it in a heated / climate controlled showroom, and driven regularly. This car runs and drives great. The engine and transmission were professionally rebuilt about 5,000 miles ago before I acquired it, although the valves could use adjusting.. The body has great quality paint, with no known rust. The chrome is very presentable, and the interior is also nice as you can see from the photos. The engine compartment needs detailing for use as a show car. The original knock off wire wheels are all in great shape. Some rubber body seals are excellent or new, while others would need updating for show quality. The convertible top is excellent. This is a beautiful, driver quality car.

Opening bid US $180,000, no bids 9 days left in auction, seller motiva_performance, 63k miles. Car now said to be in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

    Sellers description:
This is one of the best blue exterior, red interior OTS '71 E-Types you will lay your eyes on. Originally from South Dakota, this little lady was a frame off nut and bolt restoration. What does that mean? Literally every nut and bolt, switch, panel and knob were replaced, and she even retains that new car smell. Still on her 2001 63,800 mile title. There are over 2,800 hours of labor into her to make her as close to perfect as possible. All work was done professionally by the Jag Doctor here in Abq. I have all receipts for the restoration and a complete history of the car if need be.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
