Ebay item 1/30/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-XKE-Jaguar-one-last-series-2-roadsters-built-/33086 ...
Current bid $8,100 reserve not met, 15 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1971 XKE Jaguar Series ll Roadster.
This car is a great restoration project. The miles on the odometer read 31,269 and I believe they are original.
It is one of the last series 2 roadsters built in 10 /1970 to be sold in the US market . The vin number starting with the prefix 2R is what designates the car as such,
The car was last driven in 1978, always a southern car, it was parked when the owner wanted to change color and upholstery. The original colors were sand on black. The work was started and never completed.
The car is equipped with factory power steering as well as factory AC
There is a little bit of rust under the battery box, see pics.
One spot of rust on the front left fender.
Right sill has a couple of small holes.
Driver door has a couple of rust holes.
The previous owner put in a new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing.
The engine turns but the car is not running.
Being such a late production car I was not able to find the engine number stamped where it normally would be. That area has never been stamped.
I know most of the history of the car from new.
Also included is a new upholstery kit that was bought several years ago.
One of the seat covers in the kit has a small stain, might be able to clean it.
Some of the carpet and vinyl pieces in the kit have some stains they acquired while sitting not being installed.
The vinyl from the carpet for the footwell in the kit has bubbled do to age see pics.
Most of the pieces can be used and individual pieces can be ordered if needed .
The driver's seat, the previous owner started to reupholster, not finished needs to be done.
The driver's seat is missing the bottom cushion.
The car is 97% complete, if not in pics I do not have it.
A southern car thats has been sitting most of its life.
Car is for restoration and is sold "as is"
