Ebay item 1/28/12
MotorCarTrader.com is excited to offer this beautiful and restored Jaguar E-type Roadster. It is finished in the stunning color combination of signal red with biscuit interior. The current owner of this car has owned this car for about 13 years. A lot of work and time has been invested in this car. All records of restoration work done are with the car in a nicely organized binder. Some of the restoration work done is as follows:
The engine was rebuilt in 2005 with overbore cylinders, new high compression pistons and a new crankshaft . Just under 5,000 miles have been placed on the car since. The car has 63,056 miles which we understand to be original, as the current owner bought the car with 33,825 miles in 1999.
The compression is excellent at 180psi to 187 psi across all cylinders and the oil pressure is excellent as well.
The transmission was completely rebuilt
New Water Pump
New solid-state fuel pump
Rebuilt power Steering Rack
All New Brake system hydraulics
Carburetors Rebuilt and new linkage installed
New 72 Spoke Chrome Stainless Spoke wire wheels with New Tubeless tires
The floor pans were replaced about 5 years ago and the car was also repainted at that time.
A new interior kit was installed prior to the paint being redone. The new kit included everything except new seat covers.
A new tan cloth top was installed when the interior kit was done
To elaborate on the condition of this car, as I always try to represent my cars as honestly as I can:
Paint/body: The paint was done about 5 years ago. It is still excellent and looks stunning on the car. There are a few small chips and a small crack on the rear boot (trunk) from regular.
Chrome: The chrome looks very good to excellent. We believe this was redone before the current owner purchased the car looks very nice. The quality of the chrome matches the quality of the paint quite nice.
Interior: As said above most of the interior was replaced about 6 years ago. The seats were not recovered, so they show a bit more wear. The driver side headrest has some cracking/separation from age.
Soft top/ boot cover-The soft top was replaced about 6 years ago with a new boot
Wheels/Tires: The chrome wire wheels are new on the car and the tires are newer Dunlop tires as well
Underside/floors: The floors were replaced 5 years ago, so they are new. The underside is very clean and solid with no rust.
Engine Compartment: The engine compartment is clean and under the bonnet/ wheel wells are also very nice to match the outside of the car.
Spare tire Compartment: The spare tire compartment is clean and also painted red as it should be to match the exterior color of the car.
Overall: This is a great Jaguar E-type Roadster to be enjoyed. It is not a JCNA Concours car, but a very nice driver that can be driven anywhere. I have driven this car and it is very tight. It can be driven anywhere. The current owner has invested a lot of time and money to make this car an excellent driver. About a year after the current owner purchased this car, he entered it in a JCNA event and it scored a 989.80 out of 1,000 or a 9.898 out of 10 in the Driven Class (not Concours Class). This was before he had most of the work done to the paint, interior, top, engine, tranny, new wheels, etc. If you are looking for a nice driver to enjoy, this would be a terrific car to enjoy. 1971 was the last year for the 6 cylinder Jaguar E-types.
