The record was updated:

  • Car Condition was changed from Awaiting rest. to Work in progress
  • Owner: Paul Gilbert

My first car was a 69 E-type roadster. I bought it in New Orleans and spent the next few years restoring it while driving it. I had to sell that car to help pay for college. I believe it was shipped overseas.
I restored some Corvettes over the years.
After years of wanting another E-type, I bought my 72 coupe and I'm looking forward to many dirty hours restoring it.

    Ebay item 7/14/13
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-1972-V-12-E-type-2-2-Coupe-/190869841418
Current bid $2,247 reserve not met, 9 bids 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $18,500. 44k miles.

    Sellers description:
This 1972 V-12 XKE is a one owner car. The gentleman really took care of this E-type. The now sought after color Sable Brown paint has some chips and cracking as it is the original paint from the factory. It is a fully matching number car and the numbers are as follows: Chassis 1S72762BW, Engine 7S6169SA, Body 4S53602, Transmission 10727. The car has been off the road for last 5-6 years and will need to have all the fluids drained and replaced with new. The interior is absolutely super, the seats have no cracks or no rips and the carpets are just as nice. The only thing in the interior that needs replacing is the headliner as it is sagging a bit. The engine is free and not stuck. The car is being sold for restoration. The car does roll and steer, so it can be transported easily.

I bought this car and am in the process of tearing it down for a complete restoration. It will need some rust repair but overall, is a very solid, very original car.
I'm trying to research the history of the car. It has a New York inspection sticker dated 4/4/1993.
I'll add pictures of the restoration process.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
