On eBay, January 2003. Ad reads:

Excellent exanple of an early V12 XKE. A one owner car that spent most of its adult life in the California desert. Car never driven on salty road and is rust free. Orginal willow green paint is in great condition. Two early rally style timers have been installed in the glove box door other than that, car is original. Engine tight and strong, no spots on the garage floor.

Overall condition is excellent. Straight body and with chrome wire wheels that really shine, no flaking or missing spokes. Lo miles, always garaged. Leather still soft and no detectable cracks in the dash. There is a small tear on both the left and right front seats. I belive there is a picture of the area on the left front seat. This cars looks very much like the day it was purchased, other than the front seats.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
