Ebay item 7/3/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $5,600.00 (Reserve not met), 10 bids, 5 days left in auction. 66k miles, auto trans.

Sellers description:
Great original V12 coupe. Red with the original black leather interior. Chrome wire wheels, factory air conditioning. Recently serviced with the plugs and wires changed. Continually serviced by the local Jaguar specialist. Great driver quality car that has been stored and infrequently used, however runs and drives well. Could use some light cosmetic and maintenence TLC to make it a showable driver.

Vehicle Condition
Great original car that only needs small things to be a great car. Older repaint with some chips in various places, however no rust or body damage. Paint is shiny and looks great from a few feet away. Original black leather in excellent condition for its age. Some light cracking and patina but no rips or tears. Seems to Run and drive well, however it has not been a daily driver for some time. I am not sure that I would take off cross country in the car without a thourough examination and complete servicing.

Car returns to ebay 12/4/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $8,100 reserve not met, 12 bids, 3 days left in auction. Car now located in Los Angeles, California.

Sellers description:
Unfortunetly I have to sell by beloved E-type Jaguar. I believe I am the fourth owner and that the car spent most of its life in Texas. I have spent thousands of dollars getting this car in amazing condition. I have had an open check book policy on any repairs and have only used original Jaguar parts. I have a folder full of receipts for the work I have have done on the car. The car has covered 68,500 miles and was sitting unused for some time before the previous owner bought it.

Below is a partial list of work done over the last two years:
Complete engine rebuild 3,000 miles ago
All belts and hoses replaced.
New brakes
New shocks and bushings
New power steering pump.
Rebuilt carbs
New water pump
Recorred Radiator.
New thermostat
New paint. (previous owner)
New white wall original style Dunlop tires.
New door seals
Rebuilt A/C system
New transmission seal.
New steering wheel
New dash top.
New front seat leather and padding.
Re-dyed rear seat.
New carpet.
New headliner
Mostlty new exhaust system.
I'm sure there are many other things that I have forgotten about too.

There only few things on this car that I am not 100% happy with.
1. The paint job, done by the previous owner, should have had a more professional job done. If I were to keep the car I would end up repainting it again. It looks great from 10 feet but if you look closely you can see imperfections.
2. A couple of sections of the rear bumper and the right side of the front bumper need to be re-chromed.
3. The clock does not work.
4. The engine bay needs to be detailed.
5. There are some trim strips missing from inside the rear parcel shelf.
6. The heater fan does not work.
7. The speedometer works but bounces a bit.

This car is stunning other than these points. I cannot drive the car without people giving me the thumbs up or stoppping me to try and talk about it. I would love to see the car go to someone who will put as much effort keeping it the way it should be kept as I have done.

Car returns to ebay 9/24/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BEAUTIFUL-RED-BLACK-LOTS-RECEIPTS-SOLID-CAR-/28074310503 ...
Car has a buy it now price of $37,995 for 20 days. Car now said to be in Charlotte, North Carolina. 70k miles.

Sellers description:
This 1972 E-Type 2+2 is a rock star. Refinished a few years ago in bright Signal Red, this E-Type is still the kind of car that makes little kids stop playing on the sidewalk, grown men turn to gape, and parking valets will always give it priority spots out in front. Of course, as any Jaguar expert will tell you, buying a solid car is your first priority, and this one is solid and rust-free, with none of the typical problem areas that plague these wonderful cars. The long bonnet fits well and doesn't shake as you drive, the doors close with a delicate click from the latches, and the bumpers fit tightly to the body, all suggesting that this car has always been clean, straight, and undamaged. The chrome and stainless trim is very good, with only a few signs of age, and the overall look is of a wonderful show and go cruiser. With twelve cylinders under the hood, nobody wants a Series III trailer queen, so this one is ideally suited to drive and enjoy. You'll definitely appreciate the expanded legroom that the longer wheelbase 2+2 offers, and the airy, bright cabin offers great sightlines in all directions. Black leather buckets are as inviting as the plush sofas in the finest British men's club, and offer a great blend of comfort and support for the spirited driving this car delivers. Jaguar stuck with the rocker switches across the dash for most of the secondary controls, as well as a full array of Smith's gauges that are all fully functional. The center console houses the most beautifully sculpted slender little shifter lever for the GM-sourced 3-speed automatic underneath, and a modern Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo head unit has been fitted. This luxurious cat also offers ice cold A/C, making it a wonderful high-speed touring companion under any conditions. The real reason you'll fall in love with this Jag is under the bonnet, where Jaguar's famous 5.3 liter V12 hums and snarls, delivering an exotic ambience with American-feeling bottom end torque. It's happy to idle in traffic without overheating, thanks to the larger grille opening and improved fans, but when you open it up, the freshly installed exhaust system with proper resonator and quad tips makes it easy to imagine you're bellowing down the front straight at Mulsanne. With freshly rebuilt carburetors and a thick binder full of receipts, you don't need to have any concerns about this car's mechanical fitness, either. Those chrome wire wheels are also original and beautifully preserved, now wearing modern whitewall radials.
