on ebay 10/07, seller writes:This is a 1971 Jaguar XKE Series III, 2+2 with a Chevy 350 engine that is a good car for a total restoration. This car is originally a California car, is all complete and has been garaged since 2000. The car was fitted with a Chevy 350 engine. No part on the body or the frame was cut or altered in any way. The car has a standard automatic transmission. The body of the car is mostly straight and solid. There is some rusting - the door lower areas are rusted out and will need attention. However other areas of typical Jaguar rust – the rear quarter panel and the bonnet (hood) are in good condition. The trunk floor is also rusted out. The chrome on the car is complete and good all around. The dashboard is complete and the seats are strong with no rips or tears – however the interior is showing its age and will need attention. The engine of the car is in good condition and the car is running and driving. However the car will have to be mechanically gone over before it can be driven on the highway. The car comes with extra doors to replace the rusted ones. It also comes with many spare parts which can been seen in the pictures. Overall the car is a very good candidate for a restoration. More pictures are available. We can ship worldwide. Visit us at www.meritcars.com

Please note - given the age and uniqueness of this car all sales are final. Please feel free to ask us any number of questions and also please feel free to ask for more pictures. You are also welcome to come and inspect the car for yourself. (The car is standing in College Point NY 11356.) However since this car is very old we possibly cannot check each and every item on the car. As such the car is strictly sold on as-is basis and all sales are final.

Winning bidder must pay a $500 deposit within 48 hours of close of auction. We only accept US bank checks and wire transfers. We reserve the right to end the auction early without notice. Feel free to contact us if you have any more questions - 718-554-7101.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
