Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar E-Type V12 coupe

This is a great candidate for restoration, it is a completely original car in every way that is in need of paint and an interior.

This car has spent most of its life in California and then the desert country of Texas before coming to Pennsylvania. The body is completely sound with no rust holes anywhere (although there is a hole in the trunk floor) There are several spots where the original paint has failed and there are rust spots, but very sound with no holes. There is one place on the passenger rear panel where bondo has peeled, I removed some of it to see if there was any major damage there, but there appears not to be (again it looks ugly, but it's only surface rust and body is completely sound)

This car has had a new double ended SU fuel pump and the carburetors have been rebuilt, as well as a set of Pirelli tires on chrome wire wheels. The car has had less than 1000 miles since then, but has sat for the last 2 years. Then engine runs strong and the transmission shifts perfectly, but I suspect the fuel pump points as well as the carbs will need to be cleaned.

Years in the dry hot climates have taken their toll on the paint and the interior. A new headliner has been installed, but the leather seats have dried and the seams have split and some of the vinyl coverings have deteriorated.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
