BRITISH RACING GREEN OVER BISCUIT

ICE COLD FACTORY A/C

WIRE WHEELS

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

ONLY 50,365 ORIGINAL MILES

OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL CONDITION THROUGHOUT

RUNS AND DRIVES EVEN NICER THAN IT LOOKS

THIS IS A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE OF AN UP AND COMING CLASSIC BRITISH COLLECTIBLE - THESE 2+2 V-12'S ARE STILL A BIT UNDERVALUED, AND THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE IS WORTH FAR MORE THAN THE PRICE THEY TRADE AT. DON'T MISS OUT, GOOD 2+2 V-12'S ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN, ESPECIALLY IN THIS COLOR COMBINATION AND CONDITION!!

We are thrilled to offer another great Jaguar E-type. This Jaguar E-type Series 3 Coupe (2+2) was built on February 26 of 1971 and the date of dispatch was April 2 of 1971. The year 1971 was the very first year for the Series 3 V12 produced with the smaller bumpers in front and rear. The Jaguar E-type presented here is finished in its original British Racing Green and the interior was changed to Biscuit leather at one time. This beautiful Jaguar E-type only has 50,466 miles which we understand to be original. We purchased this car from a collection as it was previously not driven on a regular basis so needed some going through. The car now runs and drives excellent. It is truly a pleasure to drive and stunning overall. The following is some of work we had completed in January of 2019:

New 205/65 R15 Michelin Defender tires mounted and balanced with new inner tubes.

Upgraded SU Carburetors.

Cam towers resealed.

New valve cover gaskets installed.

New carb floats.

New intake gaskets

New timing cover plug

New brake servo/vacuum booster.

New brake master cylinder.

New manifold gaskets

Brake system flushed.

New Pertronix Electronic ignition installed with

Front radiator hoses inspected and look new.

Rear suspension taken out to replace pinion seal, rebuild parking brake calipers replace all 4 radius arm bushings and replace 4 rear cage mounts as well.

New fuel sending unit installed.

AC retro fit installed and converted to R134 and blows cold.

Oil service and filter replaced.

Stainless steel exhaust installed.

New door light switch.

New Retro radio installed.

Carburetor synch and tune.

Voltage regulator replaced.

New battery installed.

The paint was buffed, polished and the entire car detailed.

This 1971 Jaguar XKE is a Series III coupe powered by its numbers-matching 5.3-liter V12, which is paired with an automatic transmission. Finished in British Racing Green over a Biscuit leather interior, the car comes from the first year of V12 E-type production. It was reportedly part of a large collection and driven infrequently prior to the selling dealer’s acquisition in 2018. An $8k service was subsequently commissioned from V-12 Motorsports of Indian Trail, North Carolina and completed in January 2019. Work included a partial re-seal of the engine and carburetor synchronization, as well as a new brake master cylinder, rear suspension bushing, Michelin tires, and more as outlined in the listing below. Approximately 120 miles have been added since the work was completed. This XKE is now offered in North Carolina with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and a clear Florida title.

The body was refinished in the factory British Racing Green under previous ownership, and the exterior was polished, buffed, and detailed in preparation for the sale. As a 1971 US-market model, the car was equipped from the factory with slim chrome bumpers.

The 15” chrome wire wheels received a new set of tubes and Michelin Defender tires in January 2019. A chrome spare resides in the rear compartment. Braking is managed by 4-wheel discs, and the system received a new master cylinder, booster, and fresh fluid during the January 2019 service.

Biscuit leather and matching carpets fill out the 4-seat cabin and rear compartment. The under-dash A/C system has been converted to R134, and a RetroSound stereo and speakers have been added to the center console. 50k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer, approximately 1k of which were added by the selling dealer.

The original 5.3-liter OHC V12 is paired with an automatic gearbox and comes equipped with a set of SU carburetors in place of the original Zenith-Strombergs, as well as a Pertronix ignition and stainless exhaust system. A recent compression test revealed 130-145 psi across all 12 cylinders. Recent work performed by V-12 Motorsports is listed below.

Tune and synchronize carburetors

Installation of replacement carburetor floats

Resealed camshaft towers

New valve cover gaskets

New intake gaskets

New timing cover plugs

New exhaust manifold gaskets

Replacement voltage regulator

New battery

The independent rear suspension was also removed during the January 2019 service for the installation of a new pinion seal. New radius arm bushing and cage mounts were also installed, and the cable-operated rear parking brake calipers were reconditioned.

A production date of February, 26 1971 is shown on the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. The original exterior and interior combination of British Racing Green over Suede Green is also listed.
