This 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 was purchased new in Florida and spent time in Germany before being purchased in 1988 by the previous owner. That person reportedly exported the car from the United States to Canada in 1998 and drove it only for about six weeks each year and stored it in a basement parking garage in Victoria, British Columbia. Finished in Pale Primrose over tan leather, the coupe is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. This E-Type was recently acquired by the selling dealer and is now offered in Canada with British Columbia registration that lists the model year as 1969.
The car is finished in Pale Primrose, according to the selling dealer. Exterior equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a driver-side mirror, and quad exhaust outlets. Imperfections are noted on the grille, the rear bumper, and the windshield-wiper arms.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 205/70 Pirelli P5 tires that the seller states should be replaced due to age. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats and a reach bench upholstered in tan leather. Interior appointments include a center console, seatbelts, and a locking glovebox. The air conditioning does not work but its components remain in place, the seller notes.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, while an analog clock and auxiliary gauges are positioned in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic and a limited-slip differential. The exhaust system is rusted.
The chassis number and engine number engraved into the identification plate shown above are consistent with a Jaguar E-Type Series III built in 1971. The car’s registration document lists its model year as 1969.
The vehicle is being sold on its British Columbia registration, which serves as the ownership document in British Columbia, Canada.
