This 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 was acquired by the current owner in 2024, and subsequent work totaling more than $27k involved adjusting the quadruple carburetors, refreshing the air conditioning system, and replacing the tires, various engine gaskets, and the shocks. The car wears a red wrap and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional details include tan leather upholstery, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, and a push-button AM/FM radio. This Series III E-Type is now offered by the seller on the owner’s behalf at no reserve with the owner’s manual, a tool kit and jack, recent service records, and a clean Illinois title in the owner’s name.
Finished in brown, the car wears a red wrap that was installed under current ownership. The rear hatch seal was replaced in preparation for the sale, and the antenna was replaced in 2024.
Wire-spoke 15″ wheels are secured with knock-off spinners, and Coker Classic redline tires with a matching spare were installed in 2024. The shocks and various brake hoses were also replaced in 2024. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats and a reach bench seat upholstered in tan leather. The compressor and dryer for the air conditioning system were replaced in 2025 along with the fan switch and blower motor resistor. Interior lights were also repaired following the owner’s acquisition. A push-button AM/FM radio is located ahead of the gear selector.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, while an analog clock and auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center stack. The speedometer cable was replaced in preparation for the sale. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and an aluminum radiator is installed. Service performed since 2024 has involved repairing an oil leak, adjusting the carburetors, removing the air pump, and replacing the fuel pump, spark plugs, various coolant hoses, and gaskets for the valve covers, intake, and plenum.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. A transmission leak was repaired in preparation for the sale.
A binder of records, an operator’s manual, and a knock-off tool will accompany the car.
