This 1972 Jaguar XKE Series III roadster is a non-running project that was purchased new by the current owner’s father from Downtown Motor Sales of Windsor, Ontario and is said to have spent the last 25 years in storage. The car is equipped with a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in brown over tan leather upholstery. Equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered hood, push-button AM/FM radio, chrome 15” wheels, and four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rears. This XKE project is being offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with spare parts, delivery paperwork, manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, and a clean Michigan title.

The bodywork is finished in brown, and exterior features include a black soft top, a louvered hood, quad exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers and trim. Various paint scratches and imperfections can be seen, along with pitted brightwork.

Chrome 15” wheels with Jaguar hubcaps are mounted with older Dunlop whitewall tires. A full-size spare is found in the trunk. Braking is through four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears.

The cabin houses seats trimmed in tan leather with matching door panels. Lighter tan carpets line the floors, and equipment includes shoulder belts, a push-button AM/FM radio, a center console, analog clock, and rocker switches for vehicle functions. Areas of discoloration are visible on the seats. A pair of brown rubber floor mats will accompany the vehicle.

A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. A quartet of auxiliary gauges is found in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 10k miles. The speedometer was repaired in 1973, and total mileage is unknown.

The 5.3-liter V12 features a single overhead camshaft per cylinder bank and is fitted with four Zenith-Stromberg sidedraft carburetors. The seller notes that the engine has not been started in many years but turns freely by hand.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
