Finished in red with a black hood, this V12 Series 3 is in superb order througout. The bodywork is excellent with lovely gaps and the paint first class. The black leather interior is in fine condition, the brightwork very good, the chrome wire wheels bright and the black hood in excellent order.

In the car's present ownership, the underbonnet area and subframe have been stripped and painted to a very good standard and other parts such as the brake calipers detailled. The car has also been equipped with quad 2" SU carburettors, in place of the standard Stromberg items, giving increased performance and more opportunity for tuning.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
