Chassis number 1S1515 was manufacured in 1972, and is currently owned by major Hollywood star Gerard Butler, star of the recent international blockbuster '300'.
Butler's first roles were in Coriolanus and in the stage version of Trainspotting. Butler landed his first film role as Archie Brown in 1997's Mrs. Brown alongside Judi Dench and Billy Connolly. That same year, he appeared in a minor role in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. He followed this with several appearances in various independent films and several television series in the UK.
In 2005, he starred in The Game of Their Lives, a film based on a true story of the 1950 U.S. soccer team. Butler began production of 300, in which he starred as King Leonidas of Sparta. As of May 2007, 300 had a box office gross of $438 million after nine weeks. Butler received various awards for this role including "Action Star of the Year" at the Taurus World Stunt Awards and "Biggest Ass Kicker" at the 2007 Spike TV Guys' Choice Awards. More recently Butler starred along side Hilary Swank in the romantic comedy PS, I Love You.
As befits such a prestigious owner, the car is in very good condition throughout. Finished in black with a black leather interior, it was sunject to extensive restoration works in 1993, including a full engine overhaul and a complete respray.
The car comes complete with extensive paperwork detailing all works carried out on it. An excellent chance to acquire a marvellous example of Jaguar's most advanced E-Type with a unique Hollywood history.

Chassis number 1S1515 was manufacured in 1971 and was formally owned by major Hollywood star Gerard Butler, protagonist of the international blockbuster '300'. Mr Butler owned his E-Type for a number of years and is quoted as saying: "I went to the classic car place in Chelsea to look at something else, walked in there, and there was an old E-Type Jaguar convertible, the V12 one.... I literally took one look at it, and thought, oh, my, god."
Finished in the stunning colour combination of black with black interior, this E-Type was subject to significant work in 1993, which included a full engine overhaul and complete respray. The current owner has carried out a number of recent improvements. It has just been fully serviced and the interior beautifully re-trimmed in black leather. The car now presents extremely well, with sound shut lines and a lovely shine to the black paintwork. The hood is in 'as new' condition and the engine bay looks in very good order. The manual gearbox shifts cleanly and the power steering operates without fault.
This V12 roadster comes with a fresh MoT and extensive paperwork detailing all works carried out. This is a superb opportunity to acquire a beautiful example of Jaguar's most refined E-Type with impressive Hollywood provenance.
