This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II two-seat convertible finished in British Racing Green over Cinnamon leather and is powered by a numbers-matching 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. Equipment includes a gray soft top, dual Stromberg carburetors, 15″ chrome wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a period Philips AM/FM/SW radio. The car is a US-market example built on May 22, 1969, and it is said to have been acquired in England by its first owner and subsequently shipped to the US and later placed in long-term storage prior to its acquisition by the selling dealer in 2019. Recommissioning service included a tune-up, replacement of the water pump, rebuilding the carburetors, fluid changes, a fuel system flush, and replacement of the battery and exhaust system. This XKE is now offered with factory tools, a 200-point dealer inspection report, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, and a clean Wisconsin title that lists the car as a 1970 model.
The car is said to retain its factory British Racing Green paint, chrome, and gray soft top, and Series II XKE styling cues include uncovered headlight buckets, larger fender-mounted reflectors, and taillights located below the wraparound rear bumper. Blemishes in the finish are noted, and paint meter readings from around the vehicle, along with detail photos of the soft top in its raised and lowered position, are presented in the gallery below.
Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels wear Dunlop tires up front and Pirelli tires out back, the former of which have visible cracks in the sidewalls. The car features independent suspension at all four corners and four-wheel disc brakes with inboard rear rotors.
The seats, center console, and door panels are trimmed in Cinnamon leather and complemented by matching carpets. Amenities include a center console with an armrest, a locking glove box, and a period Philips AM/FM/SW radio.
The factory wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer. Gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles.
The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six was factory rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. Recommissioning work performed by the selling dealer after an extended period of storage included refurbishing the dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, flushing the fuel system, replacement of the fluids, a tune up, and the installation of a new water pump, thermostat, battery and exhaust system. Engine stamping showing the number 7R 5686-9, which corresponds with the underhood identification plate and the engine number indicated on the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
Historic registration documents are included in the sale. The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers along with manufacture and dispatch dates. An owner’s manual, tool roll, and a temporary 1969 UK registration sticker are included in the sale along with the results of a 200-point inspection performed by the selling dealer.
