Sellers description:
1969 Series II XKE roadster in burgundy on black leather. This three owner car has been in the family for over 22 years and has been wonderfully and lovingly kept. My father purchased the car 1987 from a Navy officer in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The owner had the car garaged on jacks for about 10-11 years. It was kept in Virginia for many years until three years ago when it moved to Florida, where it is currently garaged. It is a wonderful original example of the series II and rare very low mileage car at 37,567 miles. It runs beautifully and is a great driver. It has been maintained and garaged for over 33 years that I can document. The overall condition is very good, original but not in show condition. The car was driven regularly and starts up every time. It has never smoked and never had any engine trouble. The usual brake and clutch work has been done over the years, including the replacement of the muffler which is like new. The original paint job was stripped to bare metal and repainted 15 years ago. The paint is still very nice with just a few paint bubbles around the heat vents on the hood. All rubber was replaced at the time of the paint job. The car has never been in an accident and the body is rust free. Please see pictures of the underbody. An E-Type with such low mileage comes along only seldomly, it is a beautiful example. Take advantage of the timing of this sale as the 50th anniversary of the E-Type Jaguar is in 2011, drive it to the show next year.
