Vehicle Description
This car is like traveling through a time warp. A 1969 Series II roadster with less than 20,000 miles on the clock. Includes rare factory hard top, and even rarer factory air conditioning. This car is in absolutely authentic condition. Original paint, and original interior. Now how rare is that!
Vehicle Condition
This car is in great shape mechanically, and just completed a non stop 15 hour drive from Memphis, Tennessee to central Virginia.
The body is rock solid and close to perfect. The doors, boot lid and all panels, etc, fit dead straight. There is a little corrosion under the battery tray, but otherwise the car appears to be rust free. There is a ding in the right front where the over-rider has been pushed into the bonnet, and there is another ding on the left side below the rear bumper. All of these are minor and could easily be fixed.
The paint has spider marks in it and leather needs to be rejuvenated, but you would expect that in a 34 year-old car.
The car is located in central VA, near Charlottesville. Please e-mail if you have questions.

This car has made the trip from Virginia to Toronto (under its own power i might add) and is now resting in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada. The car is scheduled for a 360 restoration after this fall. I will update with new pictures from during and after the restoration as they become available. As mentioned above the car is very solid but certainly reflects its age. I considered not restoring the car but it has more parking lot dings than I think I can handle. The car is equipped with factory air conditioning and the system is complete. It is also equipped with a factory hard top with the chrome trims. She should be lovely when she's finished.

The E is finally done. It was a joy to restore and cost a large fortune to do so correctly. I'll post some pics of her in her refurbished glory as well as the restoration pictures when i get the chance.

Sellers description:
If you're in the market for an extraordinary '69 OTS then look no further. This is a full nut and bolt rotisserie restoration on a rust free car that was still wearing its original paint. The car spent most of its life in Tennesee and was brought here for restoration in 2004. I'm struggling with selling this car but the cost of the project far exceeded my wildest expectations (over 100K ). All systems have been restored and the car drove very well to begin with. This is an extremely honest car. Engine, transmission, rear end, suspension, chassis, brakes are totally rebuilt with original spec and uprated parts.
Bodywork
The car was first completely stripped of all of it's mechanical components. It was then media blasted to remove all of its original british racing green paint. It was then painstakingly metal worked to remove any and all small parking lot dings that it had accrued in its 36 year life. Finishing putty was sparingly applied to smooth out the car to its show quality finish. The car was then resprayed, over under inside and out using Dupont's basecoat and new show clearcoat.
Engine
The engine has been completely disassembled and rebuilt. Starting at the crankshaft and moving up. The crank has been checked and trued with all new main, big end, and small end bearings. All sludge traps were cleaned at this time. The engine was then bored .0020 over and new Hepolite pistons were installed. All timing chains and guides have been replaced. All new valves and guides have been installed as well as Terry's uprated street camshafts. A new high volume oil pump was also installed (this car runs over 50 PSI at idle and doesn't leak a drop of oil). A set of '67 E-type triple SU's were installed to compliment the new camshafts. The fuel system is also brand new including all lines filters and pump ( Pointless SU) This car offers very spirited performance. All exterior metal surfaces on the engine have been thoroughly cleaned and refinished in stock colors.
Transmission
Transmission has been totally dissassembled, cleaned, and measured. The layshaft as well as all bearings and seals were replaced at this time and new uprated syncros have been installed. The transmission was refitted along with a brand new clutch and throwout bearing.
Differential and Suspension
The differential has been disassembled cleaned measured and refinished in original colors. At this time we replaced all bearings and seals. All suspension components were then media blasted etched and refinished. The suspension was reassembled using fully adjustable GAZ shocks and polyurethane bushings. This car rides like beautifully and its roadhanding abilities are beyond reproach.
Brakes
The braking system has also had a thourough going through. All lines are now stainless (including flex lines). All new pads rotors bearings seals etc. have been replaced. Calipers have been rebuilt with all new pistons seals and boots. The emergency brake calipers were also rebuilt and are wearing new pads and cables.
Electrical
The Electrics Have all been gone through. All components have been rebuilt or replaced and everything works perfectly. Ignition was uprated to a Protronics electronic ignition. Car also still has its original Phillips AM/FM/Shortwave radio and it is in perfect working condition.
Interior and Softop
The new interior was purchased from Classic Jaguar (biscuit) and professionaly installed. The soft top is tan and is stayfast carvaslike material as oppsed to the cheaper top that the cars had originally. This car is a rare one in that it also comes with a color matched factory hardtop with the coveted chrome trims. This car also has the airconditioning option however it is not currently installed because it robs precious horsepower and the climate here doesn't require it. The system is complete however and could be reinstalled at your request.
Summary
The car's restoration was completed this year and has taken some 2000 hours to complete. Assembly was completed by Signature Specialty Automotive by a seventy year old british gentleman who was the British Leyland dealer mechanical trainer in 1969. This car has had 1500 break in miles and it drives as nicely as it shows. It is fully sorted and gorgeous. Current appraisal on this car is ninety thousand canadian dollars. You just can't build one this nice for my reserve. This is probably the nicest series two E-type that I have seen offered for sale. I would encourage anyone interested in seeing the car to come and see it in person as words fail to describe its beauty.
