I bought the car around 2018 from a dealer in Farmingdale NY. The first major job was to have the engine rebuilt. The rear seal leaked oil like the Valdez. Its a great car, Willow green and everyone loves the color. I would be interested in learning the history of the car.

Art, you might get some help from Jaguar Heritage Trust, sometimes they have the first owner and location. I know what you mean about the leak, mine was so bad when I parked I was afraid to leave the car because of the smoke rising through the louvers from the oil burning on the exhaust pipes. I was sure someone would call the fire dept. and they'd try to put it out with a fire axe so I stayed by the car until the smoke died down.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
