This "Time-Capsule" like, truly original condition E-Type Roadster is presented just as it looked when it left the factory. Hand-built at Jaguars Browns Lane works in April of 1969, this left-hand drive Series II Roadster was sent to the American continent for delivery during the Summer of '69, through Jaguar importer British Motor Holdings in Canada. The E-Type looked exactly like it does today, with its exterior finished in classic British Racing Green paint, the interior trimmed in matching Suede Green leather, and a black soft top tugged behind the seats. The transmission option was the 4-speed manual, fully-synchronized gearbox. The first owner, a Mr. Michael Mady, purchased the new Jaguar from Downton Motor Sales Limited of Windsor, Ontario. Astonishingly, the green E-Type would remain with Mr. Mady for more than 35 years, stored away in excellent conditions for most of the time and covering just about 4,000 total miles from new! The all-original Jaguar was purchased from Mr. Mady's estate in 2005, by the late Robert "Bob" Koons. The "Time-Capsule" Jaguar soon joined Koons' impressive Columbia, SC-based collection of some of the most original British sportscars in existence. The car has remained there ever since, enjoying a climate-controlled environment, dedicated service, and maintenance.

Today, this 1969 E-Type Roadster remains unrestored and original through and through, with just 4,826 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloging. The original factory-applied British Racing Green paint is intact, as is the original interior, matching numbers mechanical systems, top, and Dunlop Whitewall SP radial tires. The car's impressive documentation includes the original owner's manual with Protect-O-Plate, manufacturer's warranty card, and service voucher book. The voucher book shows that the 1,000 and 3,000 miles services were performed by the original dealer. This fastidiously well-preserved 1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II Roadster could be the lowest-mile example in existence and is reported to run and drive like a new car. Few vintage cars have been preserved and maintained like this car, and this sale is a rare opportunity to acquire something as close to the manufactured condition as possible.

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was sold new by Downtown Motor Sales in Windsor, Ontario and reportedly remained registered to its original owner until their passing in 2003. Now showing 5,300 miles and finished in British Racing Green over Suede Green leather, the car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an AM/FM stereo, and a heater. Acquired by the seller in 2018, this XKE roadster now is offered with no reserve in California with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, manufacturer’s literature, paint depth measurements, two sets of keys, a spare set of wheels and tires, removed parts, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The car is finished in British Racing Green, and exterior equipment includes a black soft top, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets.

Chrome 15″ wire wheels are mounted with 185-series Dunlop SP Sport tires. A spare set of wheels and tires are included and can be viewed in the gallery below. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in Suede Green leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a locking glovebox, a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, and a heater.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 5,300 miles, approximately 450 of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Service in 2023 included replacement of the spark plugs, distributor rotor, points, and condenser in addition to changing the oil and rebuilding the clutch master cylinder.

The engine block is stamped “7R 2966-9” which matches the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
