This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster is finished in red over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was acquired by the seller in 2014 and is equipped with a black soft top, 15″ chrome wire wheels, triple SU carburetors, a Momo steering wheel, and a Clarion AM/FM cassette player. Work performed in 2020 is said to have included replacement of an oil-pressure sender and instrument light bulbs. This Series II XKE is now offered in Canada with a tool kit and jack, a boot cover, factory literature, and transferable British Columbia registration.
The car features chrome bumpers and trim, fender-mounted side mirrors, and two twin-exit mufflers. The seller indicates that the car was refinished during previous ownership, and the driver- and passenger-side floors were replaced in 2009 by Silk Cat Automotive of North Vancouver, British Columbia, as detailed on an invoice provided in the photo gallery below. The hood and left side of the car were repaired and refinished in January 2017 following accident damage sustained during current ownership; images of the pre-repair damage are included in the gallery. Rust repair is noted in the trunk spare-tire well, a paint chip is present on the passenger-side area of the windshield cowl, and damage below the driver-side turn signal.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels wear Michelin Premier A/S tires that measure 195/65. The black soft top is shown raised in other gallery photos, as is a black boot cover. A paint-color variation is noted on the driver-side hood and cowl area. US-spec side-marker lights are absent.
The interior is trimmed in black leather with a matching center console, dashboard, and door panels. An aftermarket Clarion AM/FM/cassette player has been installed, although the cassette function is currently not operational.
A wood-rimmed Momo steering wheel fronts a suite of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just under 72k miles, approximately 10k of which were added by the seller; true mileage is unknown. The factory analog clock is inoperative.
The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six features triple SU carburetors in place of the dual factory Stromberg components. A June 2020 service reportedly included replacement of an oil-pressure sender, and an oil change was carried out in April 2019.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The stamping on the transmission, KE 5574, matches that shown on the attached data plate.
