Very strange 2+2. True VIN is P1R7651994C

Naturally XKE Data does not accept this number but it has supposedly been OK'd by the Jaguar Driver's Club in the UK?, Allegedly supplied in 'Knock Down Kit' form to a British diplomat in Africa and then re-imported to UK and given a 76 registration for the year it was imported. This too seems very odd, if not illegal as year of MANUFACTURE is always taken for assigning an age-related number. But who knows where diplomats are concerned?

If anyone gets access to this car I sure would like to see a photo of the data plate and the VIN stamping on the picture frame. And/or if the JDC has some explanation as to the reasoning behind their acceptance of the VIN would they kindly post it here or send it to the webmaster.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
