Converted to V8 and automatic. Seen on eBay. Ad reads:

1969 XKE restored from ground up, body off, and new panels where needed, needless to say no rust, never in the rain, new chrome, new wheeels, shocks, brakes, etc. New 215x65 Perelli tires.
Powered by Ford 302 with Holly heads, .30 overbore, hi lift cam, balanced, custom headers and stainless steel exhaust. Fitted with complete Ford fuel injection and ignition. This auto can be analyzed and tuned at your Ford dealer. C4 Ford automatic transmission with B&M shifter.

Interior has all new leather, carpet, etc. New top, CD radio, and new instruments. Exterior is new red and only a few minor blemishes, no dents or dings. Color is a true red--sun in photos gives it an orange glow.

Beautiful design, powerful and fast, perhaps not for the purist, but reliable. Hate to sell but wife and I use it seldom.

Vehicle Condition

The car is in excellent condition with only 900 miles since restoration and same on engine. The clock does not run, hazard lights need to be connected, and needs emergency brake handle boot, but that is all I know on the to do list. Classic car insurance runs only $150 per year. A nice gift for Xmas for the man of the house.

Car has a buy it now price of $35,000 for 6 days. Car now said to be in Delaware, Ohio. 4k miles.

Sellers description:
A vintage Jag without all the maintenance issues. This car has been rebuilt from the ground up and is in excellant condition. It has a Ford 302 V-8 with a 3 speed automatic transmission with a power shifter. The engine is electronic ignition with an oversized fan for proper cooling. All the electricals have been updated and includes a Blaupunkt CD/Radio. With its stainless steel exhaust system and racing cam, this car sounds like a beast. Given its weight to horsepower ratio, it goes like a scalded cat. The weight distribution and Pirelli tires keeps this car on track through the curviest roads, a real joy to drive. The chrome fenders and spoked Jaguar wheels give it a timeless profile. This car won the E-Type Class car show at Mid-Ohio Raceway in 2011. The big difference is that I drove the car to the show rather than ship it. Because of its reliability, it is great fun to drive at road rallys. I bought this car 8 years ago and completed the restoration through Specialty Auto Group of Columbus, Ohio.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
