Lot #165989

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was acquired by the current owner in 1995, reportedly from its original owner, and it was refurbished between 2010 and 2012, including a repaint, a reupholstered interior, and replacement of the soft top. It is finished in Pale Primrose over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a CD stereo. The rear brakes and suspension were refreshed in 2020. This XKE roadster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with the owner’s manual, service records, a car cover, and a clean Georgia title in the owner’s name.

The car is finished in Pale Primrose and was repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment. A replacement black soft top was installed at that time, and additional equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, wind wings, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets. An accident in 2003 resulted in repairs of the hood and replacement of the front bumper. Bubbling on the right quarter panel and a rock impact under the driver’s door were repaired in 2020.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by earless knock-offs and were mounted with 205/70 Michelin Defender tires in 2016. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The rear brake calipers, rotors, and pads were replaced in 2020, at which time GAZ shocks and replacement rear springs, U-joints, radius arm bushings, and subframe mounts were installed.

The cabin was reupholstered in the early 2010s and features bucket seats that were re-trimmed in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a CD stereo, a locking glovebox, and a heater. The seller states that the air conditioning requires service.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 32k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The battery was replaced in 2020.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A crack on the underside is shown in the gallery along with areas of corrosion.
