Kruse auction, 5/15/1998 Auburn IN lot #117. Sports Car Market report reads:
"Chrome wire wheels, 4-speed, late stereo. M-B color over the original red, rust bubble in right door, decent interior. Excess body color paint underhood, some fair chrome. An amateur restoration that doesn't inspire confidence."

Ebay item 10/10/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-Jaguar-XKE-Roadster-Stunning-Driver-Quality-/160898 ...
Current bid $35,100 reserve not met, 5 bids 9 days left in auction. Car now said to be in San Juan Capistrano, California. 30k miles.
Sellers description:
Beautiful, California XKE Roadster. This car is a very nice driver quality example. The gunmetal grey exterior has great luster and shine and is complimented by the beige interior and soft top. Door panels, seats and carpet are all in splendid condition and all brightwork appears to have been rechromed or very nicely preserved. After extensive shop inspection we believe the engine was rebuilt recently and time behind the wheel tends to support that as the engine runs exceptionally strong and smooth. The cars solid structure suggests it was kept away from bad weather. The instruments and controls function quite well. Brake, coolant, electrical and steering components all operate as intended and overall this car would make a wonder driver for the enthusiast.
