    For sale
Jaguar e type series 2, only 36368 miles, original
    http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C639136#

JAGUAR E TYPE SERIES 2, 1970, 36368 ACTUAL MILES, MATCHING NUMBERS

    AIRCON, POWERSTEERING, MANUAL TRANSMISSION

I am advertising this beautiful car for my father in law, 1970 jaguar e type series 2 coupe, 2 plus 2. I have the car in my possession and have been asked to sell it, I have a fair amount of knowledge on these cars and owned a couple.

Ill be as honest as I can in my description, after driving the car today some 60 miles or so and looking over the car I can honestly say it drives lovely, doesn't miss a beat. This beautiful car is in fantastic condition considering its 45 years old. I believe it to be a very original solid rust free example, the paint presents very well, there are a couple of areas which may need improvement if you want to take to the next level but very presentable and original, by original I mean there is no sign of any over spray anywhere on the car which tells me either its had a full bare metal paint in its time or the paint is still the original from the factory, I cannot confirm which. The interior is very nice and original too, small amount of wear and tear but overall very presentable for a 45 year old car.

The engine bay looks nice and clean, could do with some detailing to bring to the next level. The radiator and coolant tank has some paint faded off it, but add to the originality of the car.

I have looked underneath the car, the floor pans have no holes or rust anywhere, inside the boot carries the original spare wheel and jack, no rust or holes seen there either. the previous owner has maintained the car very well, all the bushes have been changed and new seals all round.

Brakes work as they should, gear box very tight and shifts through all gears just right. NO OIL LEAKS ANYWHERE!!!!

Brightwork is in very good condition all round.

I have just installed a new water pump, alternator and battery. All fluids changed and fuel system cleaned out.

The car is UK registered with a full years MOT with no advisories, all the electrics inside the car work, EVERYTHING EVEN THE AIR CON!! The fans sometimes make a strange noise but it comes and goes I think once the car is used regular this will not happen.

This is a matching numbers car and the mileage is believed to be genuine at only 36368. We still have the previous owners title of ownership from New Jersey USA, which states the miles as 35895 miles with the letter "A" next to it which is an abbreviation according to the title for actual mileage. It also states previous owners from new 1.

ID tag still attached to windscreen which displays the chassis number, see pic.

The previous owner I'm told maintained the car himself as he was a mechanical engineer who worked for Ferrari and Porsche. The downside to this is there is no service book with the car, but by looking at it you can see its been maintained regardless of cost.

A great investment opportunity which will only go up!

A rare opportunity to own a low mileage original rust free e type, not many about like this anymore. Please don't expect a concourse car, can be used as a daily driver or taken to the next level, personally id keep as she is.

Car to be at auction 2/21

    themarket.co.uk/listings/jaguar/e-type-s2-22-fhc/25066128-04a2-4e3e-b1be-7c3304d ...

    Auction description:

    Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

    Odometer Reading: 37000

    Chassis Number: 1R43432

    Engine: 4200

    Gearbox: Manual

    Color: Red

    Interior: Black Leather

Offered from a private collection is this very well-presented and mechanically sound LHD Jaguar E-Type S2 2+2.

This really is a very good example of a 2+2 E-Type, having been restored and maintained to a very high standard by owners who had the passion, the time and the depth of pocket to do this fine car justice.

Built in 1970 for the US market, the car dutifully entertained its US owners for 45 years, during which time it had a fistful of dollars (followed by a few dollars more?) thrown at it by people who clearly knew what they were doing.

Eventually, the car arrived in the UK in 2015, where it was fortunate enough to have two successive owners prepared to spend time and money on it as and when required.

The vendor, who curates and refreshes his extensive classic car collection with a great deal of care and knowledge, is only selling as he wants to add a few cars that have long been on his bucket list and he needs to make some room.

One of these coveted vehicles, by the way, is a Bond Bug (no, really) – a car denied him as a teenager by his mother, who felt certain that it would be the death of him. Well, caveat emptor, etc.

This authentic, honest, totally useable and utterly lovely 2+2 E-Type starts, goes and stops every bit as handsomely as its appearance suggests.

There are no groans, sighs, grunts, pops, rattles or squeaks to speak of.

This is a properly screwed together and thoroughly sorted example.
