Sellers description:
I have owned this car since 1975 and it was my daily driver for about 10 years. The car is all original, all number matching and has a Jaguar Archives Heritage Certificate. I stopped driving the car with the intention of painting it and it has been stored indoors ever since. The car ran very well when I stopped driving it but it has not been started for 10 years. It has factory air conditioning that did not work when I purchased the car and I never fixed it. I have no idea what it needs.
There is some rust in the rocker at the left front wheel at the jacking point. There is rust around the rear wheel wells on both sides. The bonnet is solid and complete. The car has never been wrecked and there is no bondo on it. The floor pans are solid. Car Is faded BRG and has never been re-sprayed. There are two pieces of trim missing, 1 front bumperette and one piece on the hatch window. I don't remember how I got the ding in the nose but that is the only dent on the car body.
This was a strong running car and the engine is completely original. The rear end is a limited slip diff and the needle bearings in the rear control arm have been replaced with delron. During the years I drove the car it was well maintained and never let me down.
The interior leather is not bad, no tears or splits in the leather and with a good cleaning and conditioning it will look good. The center arm rest cover will need replaced. The door panels and sills are in good shape and all hardware is there. No cracks in the glass. The headliner needs replaced. The car has wire wheels plus a spare in the boot.
I have other Jags to drive and I have finally admitted that I am never going to do anything with the car so it is time to sell it to someone who will give it the love and attention it deserves.
