Ebay item 9/19/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-JAGUAR-XKE-SERIES-II-ALL-ORIGINAL-CA-SURVIVOR-COUPE ...
Current bid $7,567, no reserve, 13 bids 4 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
No Reserve, Sold To The Highest Bidder -
This is an original & all number's matching 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series II, XKE 4.2 6 Cylinder Two Seater 4 speed Coupe.
Only 62k Original Miles. A True Survivor & Extreme Rare Find.
The original owner lived in North Hollywood & was in the filming business. He kept it up until the late 90's, where it was sitting in his garage. A friend of the original owner acquired about the coupe. A deal was made and the jaguar moved only minutes away. The last 12 years, it sat on the side of a home on top of the Los Angeles Hills. Since April 2nd of 87', this Jag has only been driven 774 miles in total. Overall, so far it spent it's entire life in Los Angeles. Only to have owned to date by two owners. Neither owner ever got the chance on restoring it.
A True California XKE Coupe that has remained in Los Angeles it's entire life. This Jaguar is a fine example of a survivor, it's complete & correct. Remains very original with one repaint done over 20 years ago. Has always been a Silver Jag & you can see the original paint in numerous places over the body. Only Chrome trim piece is missing are the 2 windshield moldings. The undercarriage, structure, rockers & nose are what you would expect of a California car, clean. Beautiful floors & it's all original. Small amount of rust on the passenger quarter & pin holes on the driver door. The interior is 100% original & bone stock. All stock Smith gauges, buckets & upholstery. Looks to be a factory radio delete. The Steering wheel is original as well. Overall, it's all there but needs to be restored.
The engine is all original & numbers matching. I have taken the photo of the engine number matching the block. Complete under the hood and most important stock. The engine has not been driven since 2004. Second owner just stop driving and just parked it. The engine cranks over and is attempting to start. Has bad gas, carburetors to be rebuilt & normal tuning service to get it back in running condition. The headlights look to be original Lucas. just a very complete engine bay and is all there. Only has 62,911 Original Miles and it shows it. All the wheels are correct. Does have power DIsc brakes. Also, does have the original spare wheel & jack tool bag ( missing hammer ).
Overall, It's a rare 70' California XKE 2 Seater Coupe. It's getting impossible to see cars like this in this condition still left around, especially a E-Type. Clear California title in hand and was last on a non-operation in 2004. Plates do not go along with the sale of the car as they do not belong on it. Would make a great restoration project for someone. It will need to be restored & not running. Does roll though.

Imported into the United Kingdom from California in 2013. Registered VUK220H in January 2013 and then to Moss Jaguar of Letchworth for restoration. They assessed the car and noted that following a number of years in the desert sunshine the paintwork, rubbers and interior trim had suffered degradation but the body and mechanics were rust free.
Moss Jaguar carried out a full nut and bolt restoration with a photographic record. The restoration is fully documented on their website at www.mossjaguar.com and included a complete strip down and refurbishment or renewal of all components, conversion to right hand drive, re-chrome, re-paint in Gunmetal and re-trim in Light Grey. Restoration was completed in February 2014 and Moss Jaguar sold the car on completion.
