Ebay item 2/1/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Jaguar-XKE-Coupe-Project-Car-Runs-No-Reserve-/22118 ...
Current bid $14,600, no reserve, 20 bids 3 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE short door coupe numbers matching (not 2+2). This is a nearly rust free California car which was stored inside since 1989. The only rust we observed is at the outboard edges of the dropped down foot wells in the front floor pans ( see pics ). Both rocker panels and the trunk floor are solid. The car runs and will drive onto a truck or trailer. The clutch and brakes work. The interior shows wear on the seats otherwise it is complete and in decent shape. All the glass is in good condition.
The bonnet was damaged in an accident years ago and discarded. Another bonnet will be needed and the very front sub-frame repaired or replaced. We have all the lights and chrome from the old bonnet as well as some inner panels, wiring, nuts bolts etc. These are included with the car. Our intention was to repair this XKE but we never got around to it.
We put in fresh fuel, a new fuel pump, battery and clutch hydraulic cylinders in order to get the car to move under its own power. We have a new BD36788 factory bonnet still in the original wooden Jaguar crate and will offer it to the successful buyer at cost if that person wishes to use this option. The price will be $4,800.00.
