Originally a US market car, this 1969 4.2 fixed-head has been in its current ownership since 2000. The car has been in the UK since the 1990s and was converted to right-hand drive by the then owner.

The car benefits from electronic ignition, Coopercraft brakes, triple Weber 45s and a stainless steel exhaust system. MOT tested until November 9th 2011, this tidy E-type comes with a history file containing invoices for recent expenditure, said to total in excess of £5,000.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
