This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe was reportedly partially refurbished in 2010 and was purchased by the seller in 2016. It is finished in British Racing Green over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a stainless dual exhaust system, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and an AM/FM radio. This XKE coupe is now offered with an owner’s manual, spare parts, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in British Racing Green, and the seller notes the right-rear quarter panel was repainted under prior ownership. Exterior equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, dual side mirrors, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets. The window seals are dried and cracking, a paint crack is noted on the rear hatch, and stains, scratches, and other paint imperfections are visible.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by three-eared knock-off hubs and are mounted with 185-series Universal Sport thin-whitewall tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The seller states the brakes were overhauled and the ball joints and tie rods were replaced during the refurbishment under prior ownership.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include an AM/FM radio, a locking glovebox, and air conditioning, the latter of which does not blow cold.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 29k miles, approximately 500 miles of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller states that the carburetors have been rebuilt.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A replacement stainless steel exhaust system is installed.
