Ebay item 9/21/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-COUPE-JAGUAR-XKE-COUPE-ARIZONA-CAR_W0QQite ...
Current bid $4,850 reserve not met, 6 bids, 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This beauty is a good, solid driver, with air conditioning. The cosmetics both interior and exterior can definitely use some attention, but mechanically she starts every time and won't let you down. Even in its current condition she turns heads with its awesome exhaust note, and the glistening chrome wire wheels sitting on white wall radials. The car was owned by a local Jaguar club official, and was ever present at local events. The 4.2, 6 cylinder engine has been replaced by a later 4.2 (an exact fit) and the original engine is included in the purchase of this vehicle. This is a perfect car for the enthusiast, drive it and tinker with it at the same time. The reserve price is well below the current asking prices for these classics, and some lucky bidder is going to win a hidden treasure. The 73k mileage listed is actual.

This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II fixed-head coupe that was manufactured on December 31, 1968. It is finished in Silver Grey over a red leather interior, and power is from a replacement 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Work performed since 2016 is said to have included an engine rebuild along with replacement of the timing chains, engine and transmission mounts, and the exhaust manifold. This E-Type is now offered by the selling dealer with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, service records, and a clean Arizona title. According to the selling dealer the exterior was recently wet sanded and buffed.
Chrome 15” wire wheels are secured with earless spinner nuts and wear Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A whitewall spare resides underneath the cargo-area floor along with a tool kit. Series II updates included a wraparound rear bumper, a revised headlight design, and larger taillight assemblies below the rear bumper.
The interior is trimmed in red leather with matching door panels, center console, and carpeting. Features include a Pioneer AM/FM/eight-track stereo, a telescoping steering wheel, and air conditioning.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel features an E-Type horn button and fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. The dashboard houses auxiliary gauges, an analog clock, toggle switches, and a lockable glovebox. The five-digit odometer shows 72k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The replacement 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six reportedly bears serial number 7L46130S. It is paired with a four-speed manual transmission and was reportedly rebuilt in 2016. Work performed in July 2016 included replacement of the engine and transmission mounts, timing chains, exhaust manifold, and cooling fan. Service records from 2011 through 2016 are available, and a tune-up and an oil change reportedly were performed in February 2020 by the selling dealer.
