Opening bid $11,000, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1969 Series 2 Jaguar E-Type 2 seat coupe with a late 1968 build date and all numbers match. This has been a California car its entire life with the last owner having the car for 10 years. This XKE is in very complete and original condition needing only cosmetic restoration and minor mechanical work. The odometer shows 62,704 miles which I belive to be true and correct. The body is very straight with only very minor damage to the front of the bonnet, and the left had cowl side from the driver's door being opened too far. There is no evidence of any collision damage. There is also moderate rust in the driver's side footwell, which is very common to E-Types and is an easy fix with the repair panel being inexpensive and readily available from any Jaguar specialist. The paint appears to be original with typical wear and fading, however when the engine was out for the rebuild, the firewall and subframes were professionally repainted. The chrome is in fair shape and complete. The car will need a complete rubber seal and interior kit as a matter of course due to age. The engine has been rebuilt top to bottom at the cost of $4,000, with less than 100 miles driven since the rebuild and starts easily and runs strong. A new clutch has been installed. A Mallory "Opti-lite" distributor has been fitted with new high performance igntion wires. The car is fitted with new Koni shock absorbers front and rear, and new tie rod ends . The radiator has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced and pressure tested and the alternator has been rebuilt. The wiring loom is in good condition and all gauges function except the clock and temp. gauge. The front brakes and clutch hydraulics have been rebuilt. Included with the car are a set of new high performance rear coil springs, a set of new polyurethane suspension bushings, rear end mounts, new rear hatch chrome and MSD igntion amplifier and a "Radiomobile" in-dash radio which is likely original to the car. There is no jack or tool kit. The vehicle is in Bellflower, California, has a clean title, and all DMV back fees have been paid. It only needs a DMV VIN check to be registered. The vehicle can be previewed by appointment, I have been an E-type enthusiast for over 20 years and I know these cars well.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
