Car now offered at:
www.justinbanks.com/7-Main.html

Sellers description:
Left Hand Drive 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series II Fixed Head Coupe. The car is finished in Red with Cream Leather interior piped red. The car was subject to over £25,000 worth of restoration in the late nineties including bodywork, interior, and mechanicals. You now find the car is a very good condition but because the car has been in storage since that time will, it will need a little detailing and completion.

Interior:
Our car has a lovely Cream Leather interior Piped Red which was all new at the restoration. All the dials and instruments work as they should and there is nothing really to address. The carpet on the passenger side has been stained and would ideally need replacing but everything feels very nice. The interior presents very well indeed.

Exterior:
Our car is finished in Red and the paintwork is professionally applied albeit some time ago. The finish is wonderful with a deep lustre although there are some minor imperfections. The chromework is all very good and complete and the glass area is all very good and also complete. There are no dings or dents and the car presents extremely well. The tyres and Wire Wheels are also good. Overall the car is in a superb condition.

Mechanical:
The car starts first time and idles smoothly. The car drives extremely well with no surprises and pulls strongly in every gear. There are no knocks or rattles from the suspension and the brakes work as they should. The engine was completely rebuilt during the restoration but like everything else on the car will need a thorough service before being put back on the road.

Summary
This is a fantastic useable car in a great colour scheme ready to go immediately at a great price. The keyword for this car is potential, if you are prepared to put the finishing touches on this car you will have something worth far in excess of the price paid as a vast sum has already been paid. The car has driven zero miles since all the work has been done. You will see many other cars before finding one this good at this price. The drive is very good and it is ready to go. Dont forget that this is a LHD car so is perfect for your holiday home or continental rallying. Be quick as prices are on the up and you will not be able to find this model, in these colours, at this price for long!

I have bought this car for my collection see www.sterlingdays.co.uk and once re-commissioned will be available for tours in the Vienne and Louire regions of France – The Etype is one of my most favourite cars in the world she has undergone some major reconstruction work over the years, the chassis work has been carried out to a very high standard (some of the best I have seen) but the refit has been hurried – Lots of things put together badly, wiring connections were awful, hours and hours later she is now in excellent condition and awaiting to be driven around the quite roads of French in the sunshine.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
