Additional auction info;
A 1970 model finished in blue, this car is said to have remained in the current family ownership for the past 15 years and had previously been owned by a Devon dentist from when it was approximately one year old until 1989 when acquired by the vendor’s cousin. Much body restoration is said to have been carried out during 1990 and the car has seen only minimal use since. Described as in good mechanical order throughout, new wider chrome wire wheels were fitted three years ago, whilst the underside and structure are said to be very good and all panels are said to be of excellent fit with Series III front wings and rear arches added over the years. The car is offered for sale with a V5 document and an MOT certificate valid until March 2005. Estimate: £10,750 - £12,000 1970 ARR 443H 1R20604 7R9775-9 4235cc 6

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
