Ebay item 5/26/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $20,500, no reserve, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE Roadster, 4.2 6 cylinder with triple carb set up. It is a 4 speed manual transmission, and clutch feels great. This car is very clean, clean underneath, floors are solid, sills are solid. This car was painted about 4 years ago and a new top and door panels installed. Has had some new rubber seals replaced, around bumper. The four small gauges are out of a later Jaguar, but, are all working, the odometer works intermittently, so I cannot guarantee mileage.

There are two small blisters near the top of the drivers door that could be fixed. There are a few minor dents in the front bumper. Chrome wire wheels are in real nice condition, tires are like new. New battery and alternator, this car drives really nice and really turns heads.

Current bid $11,877 reserve not met, 2 bids, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $30,000.

Sellers description:
This is a beauty. We have worked on this car in our shop in Orlando for the past seven years and is a very nice vehicle.

Paintwork was done in 2001. The body was stripped to bare metal and repainted. At this time there was also a new black convertible top installed with new wood tracks also. New door panels and panel chrome was also installed. We also installed a new Ignition Switch Assembly.

In 2002, the starter was replaced and the triple carb set up was rebuilt and the fuel filter was changed and the battery was replaced.

There was a new steering wheel and hub installed in 2005. Front brake hoses and brake pipe and speedo cable was replaced in 2006. The oil pan gasket was also replaced at this time.

This car is a beautiful Silver Color with Black Top and Black Leather Interior. The Interior is in good condition with very little wear on the seats, with no cracking or splits. The dash and dash pad are in real nice condition and all gauges work. The steering wheel is a period style wooden wheel with the Jaguar Insignia in the center.

The rear chrome bumper on the car is not perfect, but still in good shape. Great for rechroming candidate. The front bar is in great shape.

This car has beautiful wire wheels with the spare tire also mounted on a beautiful wire wheel. Comes with jack and center knock off tool.

This car runs and drives as good as any E Type on the road. The triple carb set up gives it a load of power and makes it a joy to drive. This car really turns heads, so why not be the envy of the neighborhood.

Even after all this, this is not a perfect car. There are a few places in the paint on the trunk that would need to be taken care of. The driver side upper corner of the windshield has a U shaped crack where the hood was shut improperly. The crack will not get any bigger as it cracked going up and is not in eye view. This will need to be replaced at sometime, or you can drive as is.

The last auction was ended early for a local buyer. The buyer could not complete the sale due to lack of funds. Nice Driver.
